Miae Kang

My name is Miae aka LoneGirl, and I currently work as a Lighting Artist at Weta Digital and have been credited in films such as Avatar, King Kong and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

I’m residing in Wellington New Zealand, with my little girl and partner at a little place by the sea.

For those of you that know my illustrations, thank you for the on-going support and inspiration.

Completing my tertiary education in Interpretive Illustration at Sheridan College Canada, my works have been published in Applied Arts, Lux, and Chickadee magazine.

Though I find the computer to be a more convenient medium to illustrate in, I enjoy painting on canvas.

These days I am a working mom, and find myself illustrating infrequently. However, I hope to create a picture book that my little girl will be proud of one day. And I am hoping that day will come sooner rather than later!
