What is a Giclée print?
Giclée (pronounced Zee Clay). Origin 1990s from French giclée ‘spurt, squirt’. Giclée printing uses the latest computer controlled ink jet technology and pigment based, archival quality inks. The only printing technique that captures the essence of the original painting by reproducing the colours accurately and printing fine detail to produce the finest quality prints available. Over 65% of galleries now sell giclée prints.
